Renewal Online

Welcome to the only authorised online home of Renewal, the most intelligent Odinist journal yet published.

By June 1994, Else Christensen was no longer able to produce her long-running heathen print journal, The Odinist.

An Australian Odinist, Osred, therefore decided to step into the gap and create a journal that was somewhere between Else’s Odinist and Wilmot Robertson’s pro-Odinist magazine, Instauration. That new Australian publication was called Renewal, which means the same thing as Instauration – but is slightly easier to pronounce!

Back then, no-one could have imagined that Renewal would continue to go from strength to strength for the next twenty years. Well, it has done so, and now a big sample of earlier Renewals is becoming available – for free! – to celebrate the 20th birthday party of the magazine.

The first few years of Renewal were produced in a software program that makes them difficult to recover. The first available free copy is therefore volume 4, Number 3. Because 9 is a sacred number in Odinism, the “free Renewal” offer runs for nine years from that first issue.
